The development and stability of every state depend on its Basic Law — the Constitution. The Constitution is the highest document that guarantees the independence of the state and the rights and freedoms of its people.
The Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan was adopted on December 8, 1992, and this date is celebrated as a great holiday in the history of our nation. This day is designated as Constitution Day in our country and is widely celebrated throughout the nation every year.
Our Constitution defines human rights and freedoms, the duties of citizens, the fundamental principles of state governance, as well as the political, economic, and spiritual foundations of society. It declares the principle that “A person, his life, freedom, honor, and dignity are the highest value” as its core idea.
After the adoption of the Constitution, reforms were carried out in all spheres of society in our country. In particular, the political activity of citizens increased, the judicial and legal system was improved, and significant achievements were made in the fields of education and healthcare.
